What is Cupping?
A method that employs negative pressure to your tissue rather than compressive pressure that happens with traditional massage therapy. Cupping Therapy has been around from many years and is used all over the world for a variety of different health disorders. There is a long list of benefits such as increase circulation, promotion of self healing, removal of toxins, relief from chronic pain, reduction of headaches, sciatic pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, IBS, and sport related injuries. Contact me to learn more and let’s work together to find the protocol that will benefit you the most.
What about the bruises?
First and foremost, the discolorations that can occur from receiving Cupping Therapy are NOT bruises. Bruises are broken capillaries that occur from a compressive impact injury to tissue and cupping is not applying a compressive force nor causing injury. Not everyone will experience the discolorations because we all detox differently. If they do occur they are not bruises but markings of released toxins, local waste build up or stagnant blood due to pain or dysfunction in that area.
